Each of our athletes competed at the highest level and accorded themselves as champions each in their own right. Scoring points for the team competition: 8th place, Tamarous Brown-Long Jump 7th place, Sam Gibbs-pole vault 6th place, 4x800 relay of Robert Dawson, Max Putnam, Rylee Hertter, and Travis Jones 5th place finishers: Tamarous Brown-Triple Jump Cameron Easley 110 meter hurdles by just one thousandths of a second 4x200 meter relay of Isaiah Weasby, Derien Malone, Cameron Easley, and Jordan Hill 4x400 meter relay of Weasby, Devin Malone, Easley, and Hill These two relays were seeded as 13th and 9th best going into the meet and just missed qualifying by .35 seconds each while running in slower heats of competition. Your top 4 state qualifiers for the 2018 Bartlett Panthers Boys Track and Field team 4th place Brandon Wallace with a time of 15.79 seconds for the 110 meter hurdles in only his third competition in this event. Travis Jones using a tremendous kick against a strong field to run a personal record time of 4minutes 36.77 seconds Sectional runner-ups Derien Malone used a 4 inch PR in high jump after coming in as a 15 seed Isaiah Weasby pushed it to the limit with a PR time of 48.92 in the 400 meter dash Cameron Easley rebounded in the 300 meter hurdles with a PR of 39.95 to surprise a tight field Robert Dawson broke out of a bunched tactical 3200 meter run to sprint in an exciting duel to the finish line for a time of 10 minutes 7.27 seconds. Overall the team which was predicted to only place 8th out of 36 teams scored a big 64 points to finish as the 4th best team overall. Great job and good luck at state, May 24 at Middle Tennessee State University. BOWLING - The State Qualifying BHS Bowling Team is looking for new recruits for the 2018-2019 season. We will have practices beginning May 29th that are open to all incoming 9th through 12th graders. All students interested in practicing to trying out for the Bartlett Boys & Girls Bowling Teams for next season need to come show us what they are made of. Cost is $5 per person for 2 hours of practice. Time: Every Tuesday and Thursday, starting May 29th from 3pm to 5pm at Cordova Lanes. Schedule posted on Bowling website and on Coach Butner’s website.
