SPORTS GOLF – Congratulations to Garrett Underhill, who won the Regional Golf Tournament last Thursday with a score of 71 at Audubon Park to Advance to the State Tournament. Garrett tied a golfer from Houston High and had to win a sudden death playoff that lasted 9 holes before winning! The boys team finished 4th place and ran their final record to 27 wins and 15 losses. Rachel Stephens shot a personal best of 90 and missed qualifying for the State Tournament by 1 stroke. The girls team finished 4th place and evened their record to 10 wins and 10 losses. Garrett will be competing at the State Tournament played at Willow Brook Golf Course in Manchester, TN on October 1st through October 4th. Good luck Garrett! ACADEMICS

GO JIM GO - Born with a severe case of scoliosis, Evonte Cathey underwent several surgeries to fix his spine. At the age of nine, Evonte underwent an operation to separate his fused ribs and expand his thoracic volume at Le Bonheur’s Children Hospital. His spinal curvature is now stabilized at 40 degrees, and his lungs have reached maximal growth.“He’s actually looking like a normal 14-year-old,” said Evonte’s mom. His parents traveled from Las Vegas to Memphis to meet with a doctor at Le Bonheur’s Children Hospital. With the help and support from Le Bonheur’s Children Hospital, Jett Kindred is alive to this day. Support patients like Jett bypurchasing a Go Jim Go heart for $1 in the cafeteria. When Marshall arrived at Le Bonheur, surgeons removed the C6 vertebrae and placed four screws and two titanium strips in his back. After months in a brace, he recovered the strength in his neck. Thanks to the help of Le Bonheur, Jack is excelling in school, enjoying riding on his four-wheeler and living his dream of playing baseball all because of the patient care at Le Bonheur.
