10th and 11th Graders:
Governor’s School Applications for the ARTS are due to Ms. Ross in Guidance no later than 2:00 on Wednesday, October 31st.
 
All other Governor’s School Applications are due on Wednesday, November 7th. 
 
RECRUITERS - The following recruiters will be in the guidance office this week. Interested students may visit during lunch or 5th period with a teacher's permission and a hall pass.
Thursday- United States Army
 
DETENTION – is in M208 today.  Doors lock at 2:15pm.

GENERAL
LISTEN UP – EARLY BIRD SNOWFLAKE TICKETS WILL BE SOLD TODAY, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 31 AND MONDAY NOVEMBER 5.  TICKETS WILL BE $25.00 FOR SINGLES AND DOUBLES WILL BE $40.00.  SNOWFLAKE IS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30, AT WOODLAND HILLS FROM 8 UNTIL 12.
 
BALFOUR – a representative will be available during all lunches Tuesday, November 6th in the Senior Cafeteria to collect Graduation supplies orders and deposits.  A $60.00 deposit is required to place an order.  Information packets are in the Main Office.  Cash, checks or money orders (payable to BALFOUR), are accepted.
 
 CLUBS
FRENCH CLUB - will have their 1st meeting at the high school on Monday Nov 5th 2018, in room W209 from 2:30 to 3:15pm.
 
WARDROBE – All students interested in being a part of the spring literary magazine “Wardrobe” are invited to meet in A27 after school at 2:15pm Wednesday.

GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD - BHS State Girls Track & Field will have our 1st parent meeting Thursday, Nov. 1 @ 6 pm in Bartlett High Cafeteria.

Seniors! There are only a few days left to apply for the Tennessee Promise program! If you are thinking of attending a two-year school in Tennessee or a Tennessee College of Applied Technology- even as a backup plan- make sure you complete your application at www.tnpromise.gov no later than November 1st! See Mrs. Radford in guidance if you need help.
 
REPORT CARDS - we will be having a short homeroom TODAY between 6th period and 7th period. 6th period will end at 1:05 and 7th will begin at 1:15. Students will be picking up their report cards.
 
THE ARTS
BAND - The band will be dismissed beginning of 2nd period to load equipment for their performance at the 9th grade academy
 
GENERAL
BLOOD DRIVE – The Blood Drive is Monday, October 29.  Help us reach our goal of 100 donors.  Turn in your completed application in all lunches today.  Give Blood.  Save a life.  Be amazing.

FCCLA - membership deadline to be nationally affiliated will be on Monday October 29. Fees are $20.
 
FCCLA - members meeting will be held on Tuesday October 30th @ 6:30AM in Mrs. Jones room A-16.

CROSS COUNTRY - Come see the Boys Cross Country Team TODAY, Friday as they take on 27-time state qualifier Houston High School, 5-time state qualifier Collierville High School, and Arlington High School at the Region 8 Cross Country Meet. 
 
If you have not been to a cross country race …TODAY would be the day to come out to Shelby Farms and share in the experience that requires endurance and mental stamina. 
 
The race will be held at Shelby Farms, with the girls running at 4:00 pm and the gun going off for the boys at 4:45 pm.  Your support is appreciated!  Bartlett’s Gaining Baby!  The girls will challenge Collierville for a place at STATE! 
 
GIRLS BASKETBALL – we will be having try-outs Monday, October 29th in the Main Gym from 2:00pm to 4:30 pm.  All girls interested, please come out!

CROSS COUNTRY - Come see the Boys Cross Country Team TOMORROW, Friday as they take on 27-time state qualifier Houston High School, 5-time state qualifier Collierville High School, and Arlington High School at the Region 8 Cross Country Meet.  The race will be held at Shelby Farms, with the girls running at 4:00 pm and the gun going off for the boys at 4:45 pm.  Your support is appreciated!  Bartlett’s Gaining Baby!
 
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY - Congratulations to Landen McNair for finishing the regular Cross Country season as the fastest Freshman in the State of Tennessee. Also, congratulations to Robert Dawson for finishing the season as the 3rd fastest Sophomore in the State and to Travis Jones for finishing as the 18th fastest Junior.
Along with the Region Championship on Friday afternoon, Saturday will be a big cross country day for Bartlett.  This Saturday, come see the Memphis Freshman and JV Championship Cross Country Meet hosted by BHS.  The course is located behind Appling Middle School.  The freshman races are at 3:00 and 3:45. The JV races are at 4:30 and 5:15.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY - The Bartlett Boys ran the National Postal 3200m on Friday night.  All 22 runners achieved personal records for two miles.  Congratulations to Travis Jones and Robert Dawson who ran 9 minutes and 30.4 second and 9minutes and 30.8 seconds respectively.  Both broke the school record by six seconds, making them the fastest 3200m runners at BHS for over 100 years. The team averaged 9 minutes and 52 seconds, the fastest that Bartlett has achieved.  At the end of the season, they will know their State and National ranking.  Bartlett’s Gaining!
