ACT REVEW – Mrs. Riding is teaching the science ACT review in her classroom in S114 TODAY at 2:05. Students who have signed up for the ACT review should go promptly to Mrs. Riding at 2:05.
BE A TUTOR - If you would like to sign up to be a peer tutor this year, see Mrs. Pilant in guidance. You will receive $10 an hour. You must have already taken the class and made an A in the class.
YOUTH COURT - We need students to be the lawyer prosecuting criminals at a real Juvenile Court trial.
We need students to be the lawyer defending criminals at a real Juvenile Court trial.
We need students to sit on a real Juvenile Court jury and decide the punishment for a juvenile criminal.
We need students who want to reduce crime through their community involvement, and work with real lawyers.
You can do this if you join the Youth Court team. You must be at least a Ninth-Grade student, have a 2.0 grade average, and pass a background check.
This program is a model for Tennessee schools.
This program is great way to accumulate community service hours
This program is an awesome resume builder for your college application.
See Mr. Schwill in Room A-12 or Mr. Riding in room M 207 if you want to pick up an application and join the team. Mr. Rovery also has applications and students at the Freshman Academy should see Mr. Rovery to pick up the application.
In October we will be administering the PSAT on campus. This is a practice College Entrance exam. You will get back meaningful feedback on areas that you need to improve and for Juniors this is the exam that could make you eligible to become a National Merit Scholar.
The cost is $20 and spots are limited. Please see Mrs. King in guidance to register.

Mu ALPHA THETA, the math honors society, is accepting new applicants until September 17th with $30 dues. You may pick up an application from Mrs. Gipson in NW227. Current members must pay $10 by next meeting, Sept 27.
